I'm playing with some earring ideas. I like the light Mocha thread with pearls and beads or I may try some cream which I also have. Unfortunately the small ivory Delica beads which I thought would look nice with the pearls are a little lost with the mocha thread as the colour is very similar. I might also try my red thread with cream or grey beads.
I quite like the design on the left but I want to find ways of adding pearls to it for a little extra weight. Tatted earrings are so light when it's just thread! I quite like the design in the centre (with the circle of pearls)… but nothing's finished yet. They're all just little sample bits.
We're doing lots of outdoor activities with the children, walking, cycling, climbing mountains, jumping into rivers, etc. But whenever there is a little free time, out come the shuttles! Makes for a nicely balanced holiday.
Best wishes,
Frivole
Really beautiful...looking forward to seeing what you come up with!!! I love the pearls and the lace and the light mocha thread...just lovely together!
ReplyDeleteKorlory wręcz królewskie. Piękne wzory.
ReplyDeletePozdrawiam :-)
Plenty of possibilities!
ReplyDeleteThe colors are such a classic combination I love the second item, and love the pictures!
ReplyDeleteLooking like very pretty earrings, hope you can sort the pattern out.
ReplyDeleteHope you are having a great holiday.

Great designs!! I love the one with the pearls in the center and the earring finding attached!! :)
ReplyDeleteI’m a sucker for pearls... also for the thread colours you have used. It is a lovely photo, Frivole.

Pretty! I look forward to see what you tat with the pearls and beads :).
ReplyDeleteIt is a classic, really charming style!

What kind of thread is the light mocha....it is lovely with the pearls...
ReplyDeleteHi Helen, the mocha thread is Lizbeth, in size 20.
DeleteAll your designs are beautiful. I'd love to see patterns for the one on the left and the center one with the pearls. I'd also like to know the brand and color of the mocha thread. Its really lovely.
ReplyDeleteHi Helen, I said above Light Mocha is it's actually called "Mocha Brown Light" and it's number 690 (Lizbeth).
DeleteLast day of our holiday today so I'll soon be back to my more usual working schedules and should have more time to play with those designs.
DeleteHi, me again. I'd love to see patterns for all of them. I've decided to only use lever back earring findings with my tatted earrings. I have to remake one with size 80 thread as it came out of my ear while wearing it and is lost. Of course the rubber/vinyl stoppers can also be used on regular ones too.
ReplyDeleteI do like lever back earrings too and will buy them by preference when I can find them (and when they're not too expensive!). They can be quite a bit pricier in sterling silver for example.
DeleteOur regular craft stores in the US carry a brand called "Beadalon" and they sell six packs of the lever backs for a very reasonable price. While they aren't sterling silver, they are nickel free and don't cause reactions and hold up quite well(as far as appearance is concerned) in the silver color that they offer. I don't know if this brand is widely available in the UK or not. I need to mail order larger quantities the next time I place a bead order as I don't have a local bead store.
ReplyDeleteI have a Lizbeth mocha but its color 691, apparently the next shade up on the mocha run. I also have to mail order 690. Thanks for answering so promptly and enjoy the rest of your vacation. It sounds like you are having a wonderful time. Cheers!
Thanks for that Helen, I'll have a look and see if I can find the lever backs you mention here in the UK.
