Again, like in Orsi's design, I like the chains that curve in opposite directions. I'd like to make a design of my own eventually that incorporates that particular element.
This is another great pattern which would create a different motif once you joined four of them together.
Best wishes,
Gorgeous! I love the color combination!
ReplyDeleteLovely motif and you have used very appropriate colors!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous, I love the colour you have used, really works with this motif.

It looks fantastic!
ReplyDeleteThank you very much. I'm a big fan of Mary's designs and think they're always well worth re-visiting.
ReplyDeleteThis is lovely. I am a big fan of chains that curve in opposite directions as well. Wish I could tat them correctly the first time!

Hello, I just found your blog and have enjoyed looking at all your beautiful tatted pieces. I especially like the contours on this motif, and your color choice is perfect. What book is this motif in of Mary Konoir? Thank you!
ReplyDeleteHi Carol,
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comment. This design is to be found in "Tatting with Visual Patterns", her latest book which is still available for purchase I believe.
I love the added color!!! Could someone post a link on how to add color like has been done on here? Is a third shuttle used?
ReplyDeleteHello Nancy, no you just need two shuttles with a different colour in each shuttle. As you naturally make all the rings with one shuttle and all the chains with the other, your motif will come out like the one above. In this case I used Lizbeth "Juicy Watermelon" (which is a variegated thread) for the rings and "Leaf Green" for the chains.
DeleteCan this be accomplished with needle tatting?
ReplyDeleteHi Shelley, I'm no expert with a tatting needle, but this is a simple pattern with just rings and chains so I don't see why not!
