An Oldie...

... but goodie?  I wrote this pattern for "Le Flocon Frivole" back in 2011 (my how time flies!) and I had not tatted it for quite some time so I decided to make it.  Looking at photos, I debated whether I liked the empty centre... and made a version with added rings to fill the space:

Below is the original with the empty centre:

What do you think?  Which one do you prefer?

Maybe it's the original for me after all?

I'm also not convinced about the two small rings between the long arms and might play with it a bit more eventually.

Best wishes,
Frivole

  1. I do prefer the new version, wonderful! I think the eye focuses on the empty middle, but that may just be because you mentioned it.

  2. Mir gefallen beide Versionen. Bei dünnem Garn würde ich die alte Version verwenden, bei dickerem Garn die neue Version.

  3. The new version is nice. But I think I prefer the old one. It’s one of my very favorites to make and one that my “ customers” prefer. They are always the first to go.

  8. How about a cabochon in the centre to make an ice drop version? I have loads of different size cabs, so could send you some.

  9. I love them both, but I do prefer the new version. I really like the filled center - it looks complete to me, and more like the real thing.
