When I last visited my Mother-in-law, she had a little doily I made for her on her table and I remembered how much I liked these colours together. This is Lizbeth Spring Green with Lizbeth Tropical Punch. The border I chose is similar to the one that was on the original doily but not quite the same as I couldn't remember where I found it the first time. It's a vintage edging that I've seen in a few different old books. I modified it just a little to a shape that appealed to me.

Just can't have my hands idle you know... so a couple of hours on the train yesterday plus a couple of hours watching a film with the children on TV tonight and there you have it. Nearly done.
Best wishes,
It's so very pretty!! I have that color, but I don't use it too much. It does look nice with that green though!

ReplyDeletevery pretty colors. and your edging looks very good. looks similar to one in the Tatters Treasure Chest.
ReplyDeleteYes, this is the one from the TTC, I just shortened the top bit a little as I preferred the flowers closer together and I liked the smaller diamond shape it made between the flowers.
DeleteThese do indeed look attractive together. Karen in Or
ReplyDeleteI have done this edging many times, it is one of my favorites... but I have never ever don it like this, I have no idea why it hasn't donned on me... This is just absolutely beautiful!!! It is like a little garden of flowers, and I really love it, excellent job :) Ty for sharing your work :)

ReplyDeleteI love this pattern. And it DOES look so cheerful in those colors!
ReplyDeleteThat is beautiful, just the inspiration for the neck of my jumper that keeps gaping, now what colours to choose??
ReplyDeleteIt made me smile on this gloomy rainy day. Thank you.
ReplyDelete*sigh* This takes my breath away. So beautiful and cheerful!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure the Handy Hands folks (Barbara Foster) would love to show this in their gallery. Although the individual tatters who create beautiful HDTs deserve great praise, we are also fortunate to have a commercial enterprise making so many colors of threads available to us! Although I love the look of classic white and ecru, I also am delighted how patterns come to life in color! This is a perfect example! Certain threads seem to be made for certain patterns!
ReplyDeletePerfect colors!! Wonderful work!
ReplyDeletej
Gorgeous. The colors really compliment each other.
ReplyDeleteThis is so lovely! One of the prettiest edgings I've seen. What do you plan to do with it?
ReplyDeleteHi Texas Tatter, I have already completed the project I was going to do with it and took photos today so it should be appearing on my blog soon... :-)
DeleteBeautiful! Can you tell me where I can purchase this pattern? I’m a new tatter and having trouble finding needle patterns. Thank you!
