Bright and Cheerful

When I last visited my Mother-in-law, she had a little doily I made for her on her table and I remembered how much I liked these colours together.  This is Lizbeth Spring Green with Lizbeth Tropical Punch.  The border I chose is similar to the one that was on the original doily but not quite the same as I couldn't remember where I found it the first time.  It's a vintage edging that I've seen in a few different old books.  I modified it just a little to a shape that appealed to me.

No. 8 of 25-motif challenge

Just can't have my hands idle you know... so a couple of hours on the train yesterday plus a couple of hours watching a film with the children on TV tonight and there you have it.  Nearly done.

Best wishes,

  1. It's so very pretty!! I have that color, but I don't use it too much. It does look nice with that green though!

    1. Yes, this is the one from the TTC, I just shortened the top bit a little as I preferred the flowers closer together and I liked the smaller diamond shape it made between the flowers.

I like that .."so a couple of hours on the train yesterday plus a couple of hours watching a film ... " and you are almost done. I wish I can say that often, :)

  18. I'm sure the Handy Hands folks (Barbara Foster) would love to show this in their gallery. Although the individual tatters who create beautiful HDTs deserve great praise, we are also fortunate to have a commercial enterprise making so many colors of threads available to us! Although I love the look of classic white and ecru, I also am delighted how patterns come to life in color! This is a perfect example! Certain threads seem to be made for certain patterns!
