It was perfect autumn day yesterday so I went outside to take the photo. These are apples from our tree which we are enjoying eating at the moment.
Please leave a comment to be entered in the draw which will take place on the 11th of October. I will ship it to the winner anywhere in the world!
Meanwhile I'll carry on working on my star design. I want to come up with a nice way of making it without beads too so I have a bit more work to do on it yet. AND, I'm excited that I've found a new way of placing the crystals in the centre, one that doesn't require the use of a "loop-tatted ring"! I'm pleased because I know that loop-tatted rings are probably a bit daunting to many tatters and I want everybody to be able to make this lovely crystal centre if they wish.
These are still prototypes
but I'm making progress.
Best wishes,
Frivole
I'd love to win this gorgeous shuttle! - and thank you for all your work on the new star - I am one of those who probably wouldn't attempt a loop-tatted ring!

ReplyDeleteNieve son preciosos. Besos
Intriguing !!! There seem to be stitches in the center, between beads. Eager to see your solution :-)
ReplyDeleteHate to be a freeloader but this is just too good an opportunity to pass ! I'd be honoured to have a 'piece' of you thru that shuttle ... may be some of your creativity will rub off on me ;-) Seriously!

ReplyDeleteI love your shuttles.
ReplyDeleteWould be wonderful to win this one.
Beautiful tatting and beautiful tatting shuttle as well.

Your photographs in your garden are always so stunning. Here in the Nevada desert we can't grow good apples, because they need those cold autumn nights to be truly crisp. But your photo makes me want to run out and order some Honeycrisps from Utah!
ReplyDeleteThinking of cooling days and your photos of shuttle with apples reminds me of a fond childhood memory when mom would make apple butter, putting the apples to slow cook wih spices at the back of the stove during the day and filling the house with aormatic magic!
I would love to win your shuttle! A perk-me-up would be much appreciated in the midst of the last two years! :(
Happy apples and spice and tatting everything nice! Hugs!
Beautiful shuttle and in my favorite color. Love the different versions of your snowflakes.
ReplyDeleteHow nice of you to be willing to send your shuttle afar. I love the tatting and often I try to include crystals in the lace too!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful shuttle! It would be a joy to work with. Can't wait to see the finished star pattern. And thank you for your blog - so fun to follow someone who tats!
ReplyDeleteFall is in the air, apple crisp baking in the oven, a moment to caught up with a tatting blog friend. Your snowflake design is delightful, special with a center crystal bead. I would love to be in your giveaway.
ReplyDeleteA wish and a smile,
Rita
I love fall - my favorite time of the year! My windows are open now and I'm enjoying the respite from the summer heat!

What a perfectly adorable shuttle! And I can't imagine any flaw would detract if the shuttle is still workable! I'm new the blog and enjoying all of your designs! I've tatted for a very long time, but I'm always on the lookout for new patterns, especially quick ones!
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty shuttle!! Can't remember the last time I acquired a new shuttle . Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteYou are such an inspiration! Love your shuttles and can hardly wait for the finished pattern. I do like the loop tatted ring technique! :-)
ReplyDeleteI could really "fall" for that shuttle. I'd certainly take it rather than leaf it...It might even help me get up and au-tumn. :))
ReplyDeleteThe beautiful shuttle with a beautiful exotic name :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful time to come across your blog--thank you for the chance at your shuttle giveaway!
ReplyDelete~Bridget

Hello
ReplyDeletethank you for this post and yoyr give away
I would like to win this beautiful shuttle but I live far away from you ...
in France, near Paris.
I wish you a nice day
and happy tatting
Remember, it's not a flaw, it's a design element. What a lovely shuttle. I would love to be the proud owner.
ReplyDeleteIm a beginner tatter. would love to win the beautiful shuttle!
ReplyDeleteOctober 11th is my birthday so I just have to enter this giveaway!! Your shuttles are all so pretty!!
ReplyDeleteI would love to win your shuttle. I found your site via Pinterest and your lovely tiny snowflakes.
ReplyDeleteYou might think the shuttle is flawed, but it looks beautiful and too nice to use!
ReplyDeleteThe shuttle is beautiful, much prettier than the metal or plastic ones I was taught on. I love the star with the snowflake in the center!
ReplyDeleteGwiazdka wygląda bardzo ciekawie. Czółenko jest bardzo ładne i chętnie przygarnę je pod swój dach.
ReplyDeleteI just aided tatting to my repertoire of fiber crafts, and would to win your shuttle!
ReplyDeleteIt is beautiful, a bit flawed like us all!
ReplyDeleteLovely snowflake indeed! I'm intrigued by the little tatted ring in the center. I would leave it till the last chain, then pull and cut sufficient thread to tat the ring and the last half chain (so that the cut strand can be passed into the last bead - others are in long picots maybe). But I'm really curious how did you do!
ReplyDeleteI admire the beads in the middle.
