The centre construction is quite interesting… it's working out a bit tight for me at the moment but I will persevere. I like the idea of an oval doily for a change. He has some lovely larger ones too which I would like to tackle eventually but for now I'll start with this small one and see how his patterns work out for me.
Best wishes,
Frivole
This looks interesting! My friend Denise is tatting smaller pieces before joining Fox in the large doily. I think that's a great way to understand the way a designer thinks. Lovely color!
ReplyDeleteThe beginning sure looks interesting. Good luck with it and do show us the final result :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like a good start!! :)
ReplyDeleteYou are off to a good start, lovely colour, I will watch your progress with interest

I love to see oval doily patterns - watching your progress to see if I "need" the pattern :)
ReplyDeleteThis design looks very interesting ! Waiting for the next step ^^
ReplyDeleteI tatted a Fikkert pattern a few months back and also found that it grew tight (and cupped horribly) as I tatted. The next time I attempt I'm either going to add a stitch here and there as I go, or just try to tat really, really loosely... :)
