Flower Earrings

First of all, thank you very much to all of you who responded to my posts about missing comments.  I'm so glad and really appreciate every single one of your answers.  I apologise if I don't respond to each individually but for some reason Blogger has become incredibly slow at loading!  When I want to respond to comments, it takes ages to load up the response box and then more ages to load up my answer so sometimes I just give up.  Does anyone have that problem who's on Blogger also?  Not sure why it has changed as this never was a problem until a few months ago.

I removed comment moderation but straight away started received spam again!  Grrrrrr.  So I'm afraid I'll have to re-instate it... and this time will try to remember to go approve comments when they come in!  (Silly me).

Now, you've seen these earrings on several occasions as it is one of my favourite pattern to make as a gift (and for myself because I also have several pairs in different colours).  I made this pair for my son's girlfriend, the colour is "Maple Syrup" which I couldn't resist buying as I'm such a maple fan!  And the shade was just in her colour palette.

I've not tatted any bigger projects for a while now so I hope you don't mind seeing the little ones I manage to make here and there.  I've got crochet and knitting on the go but not so much tatting at the moment.  I always like to hear what you are working on too!

Best wishes,
Frivole

  1. Really sweet earrings. I like the layered effect. I’m working on the Renulek Spring doily. Tattingwise. I also have spinning and knitting on the go.

    1. Is that her Spring Doily 2023 Jane? And like you I always have some knitting on the go... though no spinning lately although I'd like to get back into it. I have three fleeces waiting in my garage! As always, just never enough time for everything! :-)

  2. 3 layers of tatted rings, wow! Really gives the 3 dimensional effect of a flower, so pretty!

  3. Lovely color! I like the 3-D effect.
As for how Blogger loads....my son works with small businesses on their technology issues. He has a series of gentle questions he asks. The first is: Is the computer plugged in? The next: Have you rebooted your computer? Turning it on and off again can help the software play nice with the hardware. The final: Is it time to take a walk or have a snack? He's a calm, quiet person; much nicer than his mom when she hasn't been tatting.

    1. Haha! I remember many years ago calling for some tech assistance with my computer and I was taken aback when the first question he had asked indeed had been "is the computer plugged in?"! Anyway, I don't know what's the matter with Blogger at the moment but it's definitely not working very well for me.

  4. Gorgeous earrings. I like the 3-D effect of the layered rings. Currently I'm working on the Renulek Wiosna 2024 doily, bookmarks to be used as gifts at/near the end of the year, and earrings (also to be used as gifts). I have 2 edgings 'in progress,' too, to be (eventually) finished and attached to blouse necklines.

    1. Hi Stephanie, nice to hear from you! I went and had a look at the Renulek doily. I've not worked on larger items for a while but I always find them very satisfying.

  5. Oh, I like those! They look heavy enough, with the three layers, to hang nicely without needing lots of beads. I like the look of beads but not wearing them... Thanks for sharing!

    1. Yes Hallie, that's what I like about this design, it works well on its own, just with thread. I agree with you that earrings and jewellery often needs beads to give it a bit of weight and help it keep its shape.

    1. Hello Sue, yes, in fact, for some reason, comments are uploading well today so I'm taking advantage to answer everybody while it works! :-)

  8. So pretty !!! My only grouse with Blogger is that unless the person is commenting through their gmail account, their name does not show up and I get a lot of 'mistakenly' Anonymous comments. Oh, and I often have to click twice for the comment to upload.

    1. Thanks for that Muskaan, yes, people seem to regularly say they didn't mean to comment anonymously. But Blogger is cooperating today so I'll make the most of it and answer everyone! It's so frustrating when uploading is so slow as to become unusable!

  10. I love seeing small projects, and I would tat earrings like crazy if I could wear them. Somehow, I just don't think of them. I have been having trouble with Blogger for quite a while. The problems aren't consistent, so I haven't been able to figure out the problem. My days of figuring out computer problems are over. Now, I simply shrug my shoulders and move on. I'd much rather tat!

    1. Haha! Yes, I understand you! And agree Blogger is a bit temperamental at the moment, well, has been for a good while for me! But today is a good day and I was able to reply to everyone. Thank you as always for visiting and commenting on my blog. :-)
