I got close with my remake of Minuet but I've still not properly written the update. So, it is with sadness that I abandon the idea and will hopefully publish the pattern in the new year instead.
I will make a few of Minuet 2014 for my family but I also decided to tat my Criss-Cross Snowflake which I had not tatted since I wrote the pattern in 2011.
I'm not overly keen on the bead arrangement on this one
so will have to tat another and show the criss-cross effect instead…
though I do like a few sparkly beads on snowflakes.
AND…
Here is my Christmas gift to you: I'm having a draw for one of my Christmas shuttles. It's Santa climbing chimneys to make his deliveries while his reindeer wait for him on the snowy rooftops.
Notice I didn't put it in the title of this blogpost that I'm having a draw so that my faithful visitors will get more of a chance of winning because not everybody will know that this blogpost contains a draw! Sneaky, eh? But it is open to everyone! Anyone can win and I will ship to wherever the winner is from.
Please leave a comment to be included and I will make the draw on Friday which does mean that you probably won't receive your gift in time for Christmas but as with many other things at this time of year… I'm just running behind!!
Best wishes,
Frivole
I LOVE sneaky!!!!! Pretty shuttles.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to be included in your draw. Good luck with getting all your gifts made in time.
ReplyDeleteThe shuttles are pretty. Please include me in your draw. Seems like we're all a bit behind this year. I hope you get all your gifts finished in time.
ReplyDeleteQuel Noël ce serait de recevoir une de tes superbes navettes! Bonne chance à toutes tes visiteuses.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shuttles. I'm behind this year, too, so when you get the new pattern published, I'll tat it for next year.
ReplyDelete¡Son tan.bonitas!. Me encantaría ser la afortunada....
ReplyDeleteFelices FIestas!!!
Oh, pick me! Pick me, you ol' finicky random generator, you!
ReplyDeleteI think I finally managed this "comment" thing!
Merry Christmas
OHHH Would love to have one of your shuttles in my hands. (but maybe only to look at) they are so pretty. For the very first year (I Think) I'm finished with my big projects!! Three quilts, one of which is king size! Take care & thank You!!
ReplyDeletePlease count me in. I love working with your shuttles that I have already. I can really sympathise with having too many projects going on to get them completed, being in the same situation. I'll look forward to Minuet 2014 later.
ReplyDeleteOh, yes, I wish there were more hours in the day! I usually start my gifts a bit too late and them come up with all kinds of other things to do at the same time! Good luck with getting all your gifts finished in time. Please enter me in your draw, the shuttle looks great!
ReplyDeleteSometimes I wish there were more hours in the day, but thank goodnes there aren't!!!! Please enter me in your drawing. Would love to have one of your shuttles. Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteEine tolle Schneeflocke und wunderschöne Schiffchen.
ReplyDeleteLieben Gruß Conny
I know exactly what you mean about running out of time. I also had plans to create a new snowflake design but realized that I would only have the time to finalize a pattern I had created earlier in the year. And there's still so many things on the "to do" list!
ReplyDeleteI love the Criss-Cross Snowflake, the beads you have look just fine to me! I remember carolivy making one with bugle beads and that looked really neat too.
I'd like to be entered into your shuttle giveaway. Maybe you can convert me into a bobbin user :)
Coming from someone who just started a pair of socks and still has tatting to do, I do understand running out of time. I haven't found the time to make any Christmas ornaments yet and that is my favorite part of the season.
ReplyDeleteYes time is fast running out and I fully understand you can't do everything so please don't fret I am sure everyone in tat land will understand.
ReplyDeleteWow beautiful shuttle thank you for doing a giveaway
Margaret
Where does the time go? Messed italy at this time of year? Please enter me too, I love sneaky!
ReplyDeleteArgh, auto-correct is not my friend! I meant, ”especially at this time of year". Sheesh!
DeleteTime is certainly flying by, it won't belong at all before the Christmas madness is over for another year. I'm hoping that some kind sole in my family will gift me with one (or two) of your lovely shuttles from your Etsy shop, either for my birthday or for Chritmas (as one follows the other). I hope that you and yours have a lovely Christmas. Hilary
ReplyDeleteNo apology necessary re the snowflake pattern! You have generously shared so many patterns and videos and techniques, etc.!
ReplyDeleteIt would be fabulous to receive this wonderful 'Santa' shuttle any time of the year! What a special and delightful giveaway! I loved 'finding' the info about it - so generous of you!
Oh, how I would love to win one of your wonderful shuttles.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to enter the draw please! - and when you began to re-tat Minuet, I pulled out my copy of the original and tatted it again - it will be fun to have a new snowflake in the New Year!
ReplyDeleteYou are such a gifted and thoughtful artist :)
ReplyDeleteOh! No apology is necessary. Your gift to the tatting world happens all year long!! So many of us can empathize with the Christmas rush that seems to happen no matter how organized we are! Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a new year filled with much joy, peace, good health and...much tatting, of course! Sandy
ReplyDeleteSneaky is good, especially this time of year! I've admired your shuttles for a long time and having one of my own would be a special treasure. Thank you for the nice giveaway! :)
ReplyDeleteSnowflake patterns are appropriate all winter long. I'm looking forward to the updated Minuet pattern, but for goodness sake do it in your own sweet time!
ReplyDeleteIt's true the beads don't really show the "criss-cross" effect; it's more like two lines of beads leaning in and kissing each other, which is also very pretty. I think this snowflake is lovely, as always.
Please DO NOT enter me in the Giveaway! I just wanted to commend you on your very fox-like behaviour! Impressive. And a good idea. : ))
ReplyDeleteJag vill också vara med!! Please count me in!! I love the christmas theme. Nice job You do with the shuttles! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet idea, to give away the shuttle. I am excited for your new pattern, whenever it comes!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to be included in your draw.
ReplyDeleteI'd like my name to be included for an opportunity to win your shuttle. You're very generous. We do tend to get too many things going at Christmas time and cutting back on our expectations can be a good thing. Karen in OR
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shuttles i would love to be included in your draw. Bridget :)
ReplyDeleteI have always admired both your tatting and shuttles. Please count me in. Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeletejoojc@yahoo.com
This year, I haven't done as much tatting as expected, but I take as an excuse that I have had my baby girl and she keeps me busy. I am so behind my "one-heart-a-month" project for my mum; I just finished the heart for August... 4 more to go!
ReplyDeleteI would love to be included in your shuttle draw. A Christmas shuttle will be a good rminder all year around to keep the good things in mind.
You know I'm a very big fan of yours. Thanks for the chances to win such a generous gift. Merry Christmas to you and your family and best wishes for a great new Year!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shuttle -- it would certainly inspire me to tat snowflakes!
ReplyDeleteOh I love this! Santa, remember me!
ReplyDeleteI love your Christmas shuttle and reading your blog. It is so inspiring. I admit that I struggle with tatting but practice does make perfect so I keep trying. For me, this is the Christmas of the cross
ReplyDeleteYour shuttles are my favorites - please enter me in your drawing :)
ReplyDeleteAnd, yes! Running out of time here too. I don't know where November went, and now December has disappeared into a fog as well. My good intentions are now just good future ideas!
I'd love to be entered in the draw. Thanks for having this.
ReplyDeleteI think we all are running out of time. I actually can't believe that 2014 is almost over.
Sneaky indeed.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry about the snowflake. Things happen. It will be something nice to look forward to next year. Love the shuttle. Count me in.
ReplyDeleteIt is a beautiful snowflake and your shuttles are beautiful. I'm in.
ReplyDeleteI love your shuttles, I hope to win them to tat your new snowflake with....
ReplyDeleteThank you for this giveaway and for your wonderful and elegant patterns
Oh no you have not failed, just delayed, I love the Christmas Shuttles and hope they find a nice home, perhaps mine. PS. Good thing us tatters are used to looking at small (Sneaky) things.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes for the Season.
Yes, you must be right! I'm surprised at the number of comments already… maybe I wasn't sneaky enough! :-)
I konw exactly how you feel, I am "failing" at the "24 Snowflakes in Tatting" right now...but really, we learn more from our failures than our success...so "they" say! :) Happy Holidays, there's always next year! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm behind in Christmas tatting as well....I'm searching your blog for inspiration :)
ReplyDeleteWow ! Wonderful shuttles ))))))))))))
ReplyDeleteLove the shuttles!! BTW. You could never fail. I was just looking at my tree and there are many of "your snowflakes" gracing my tree!!!
