I completed one project during the holidays and got it posted just before Christmas. It was the blanket I made for my new niece. The colour is really a nice duck egg blue (not obvious in the photos).
I'm sorry I didn't take better photos of it, they are evening/artificial light photos and the weather was too horrible to take any nice ones outside before I packed it up to ship it. The square pattern is by Destany Wymore and can be found here on Ravelry.
And now I'm using up some odd and ends of leftover shetland wool to knit a Fair Isle hat. The pattern is "Kep Hat" by Mati Ventrillon. I've knitted several Fair Isle jumpers over the years... but it's the first time knitting a hat!
I send all of you my best wishes for a better New Year 2021, full of peace, love, joy... and lots of creative projects!
What's your first project of 2021? Please let me know in the comments.
I'm tatting a version of Marilee Rockley's Dissent knecklace. With lots of beads! https://yarnplayertats.blogspot.com/2020/10/free-tatting-pattern-for-dissent-collar.html and the first part: http://picotsnkeys.blogspot.com/2021/01/i-take-refuge-in-creating.html?m=1
ReplyDeleteMy first sentence evaporated. :( I wanted to tell you that your knitting is inspiring. I love the blanket!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I've just seen Marilee's dissent necklace and it looks great. I'd love to see your version with lots of beads. :-)
DeleteLucky niece, the blanket is gorgeous. I like the hat too. Just finished a cushion in pixelated crochet, I’ll blog about it tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteThank you Jane, I'll go take a look at your cushion!
DeleteThe blanket for your niece is beautiful. The hat is very pretty, too. My first project is about 30-40 bookmarks to replenish my 'gift stash' with new items in a different pattern from last year. I have several tatted doilies in progress, too, but they're left from last year. This year's goal is the same as last year - use up as much of my thread stash as possible.
ReplyDeleteSounds good! 30-40 bookmarks is a lot! What is this year's pattern you have chosen?
DeleteBeautiful blanket!! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat looking hat! :)
Thank you! :-)
DeleteYou always have such lovely projects to show us! I have nothing new for 2021, but I am getting back to knitting my Orenburg warm shawl. I'm also busy tatting ornaments for next year!
ReplyDeleteThank you Diane! Ornaments for next year already? I wish I was that organised!! :-))
DeleteI shall go check out your blog to see your Orenburg shawl.
I am working on Jans Doily 1 from tatted treasures. I also customized my tatting shuttle to a lemon theme.
ReplyDeleteI hope it's going well Krisjin and that you like your customised shuttle. :-)
DeleteNice knitting, great projects for a bad weather day.
ReplyDeleteThank you, and yes it's pretty miserable January weather at the moment Bernice. :-)
DeleteGoodness that blanket is stunning!!! I’ve decided to make a runner for my dining room table in size 40. I made a “gauge” in the only size 40 thread I had so I could see how many squares I’d need (75!) and how much thread. My sticking point is choosing a color. Cream and..... This could delay me for a year! And a knitted shawl. But nothing fancy like yours. All the best to you and yours for 2021!
ReplyDeleteThank you Michelle and the same to you! Can't wait to see what colour you decide on... and which pattern?
