And here they are:
I don't have any browns in my stash at the moment (I am about to remedy this problem and hope to receive some in the post today) so I did the first sample with jungle greens and black (photo below) and the second one in leafy greens and mocha light (photo above). The mocha light gave me another idea though... you could use cream or white for the chains and small rings and it would look like Christmas trees in the snow! It does a bit in the photo above even with the mocha light. Don't you think?
I will give the pattern away to the first 10 people to comment on this post. It's not been test-tatted yet so for the first ones who try it, I would welcome feedback. After that, it will be available in my Etsy shop. I've even designed a corner for it so the edging could be used for a handkerchief or as a frame.
And finally, one reader asked if she could have the stitch count for the small rainbow motif I made in the previous post. It's very simple, mostly 5-stitch counts, and here it is:

In case I don't get a chance to make another blogpost before the big day...
Thank you for your support and interest during the last year.
Best wishes,
What a cool idea! I can see the edging around a satin ball for an ornament.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! earlier today I saw a crocheted christmas tree edging, but I love this tatted version much more!
ReplyDeleteI love your tree edging! I'm an edging addict and would love to add this pattern to my repertoire.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love the Christmas tree edging. I gave away so many of my too-large clothes that I don't have much Christmas clothing left. This sweet edging would be great on one of those collars that layer over one of the round collars on a couple of my holiday blouses. And if I can't find a variegated green, I could do it all in white and have snow-covered trees. How very sweet!
ReplyDeleteYesterday I saw a CROCHETED Christmas tree edging and I wished that it could have been tatted instead! - and now, this morning, here is your design. Isn't there a word for that?
ReplyDeleteAh! Serendipity. :-)
DeletePattern on its way!
I LOVE the tree edging! I think I'm #6, and I would love a copy. Best, Susie

DeleteThanks! Sorry it didn't come through with the comment.
Love the edging. Possibly a autumn thread mix for the chains and small rings and it might remind someone of trees in fallen leaves for fall. I would love a copy. Phyllis
ReplyDeleteThat's a lovely idea Phyllis, I like it!
DeleteOh, I hope I'm in one of the first 10...! I think this edging is adorable!

Absolutely brilliant! I love the trees - and yes, they look like they are in snow even with the light mocha thread.

ReplyDeleteWhat a cute idea! Love the little trees!
ReplyDeleteI'm too late in the string of comments to qualify for the pattern, but I love it! There are about a bazillion things you could do with this for Christmas decorations or a little girl's special Christmas dress...you've got my mind whirling!
ReplyDeleteAfter looking at both the mocha and the darker brown, I really like the paler version. The snow is pretty, while the darker one seems to overpower the lovely greens. Thank you for sharing it with us!
ReplyDeleteOh no, 32 people beat me to the pattern. I guess I'm off to the etsy store. What a great christmas pattern.
