Tree with Baubles.. and Pumpkins

Here is the Christmas tree with red baubles!  This should be my last post on the little tree but I wanted to show it to you one more time with its tatted snow and baubles.  I strung some red beads on each shuttle and placed them randomly as I was tatting the tree.  I also went fancy and did the trunk in brown instead of carrying on with the same thread throughout.

Oh, and I nearly forgot to say that I also started a series of videos on how to make the tree, you can find the videos on my channel (link in right side bar).

It's currently more the season for pumpkins than for Christmas trees really so I've also been having fun making these cute crochet pumpkins (following this video).  They're quick to whip up so I made a few for family and friends.

Best wishes,
Joëlle

  1. The baubles finish the little tree off perfectly! A friend of mine is making those pumpkins too. I like their texture.

  4. Aww, love the little festive tree! I like that the trunk is brown, too. Those pumpkins are gorgeous! I wish I could crochet like that. I've tried cable stitches in knitting, but my tension is so tight that I usually can't get them to come off the cable hook right (or at all! LOL) and it all ends up wonky. Oh well, that's why I de-stashed most of my yarn collection.

    1. Hi Angie, yes, it's more difficult to do things when tension is really tight. I've been teaching my daughter to knit and she tends to knit too tightly and I keep telling her to try to loosen things up and knitting will be more comfortable! Sorry you had to give up though, that's sad! I've just been thinking that crochet pumpkin stitch would make a great hat! I think I'll have to try it.

  5. Thanks so much for the pattern and the videos. I could have figured it out without videos, I think, but I'm enjoying them anyway. I realized I have to get a christmas tree done this weekend as I promised to show it to a friend at my knit/crochet group on Monday morning!
