Busy with Earrings

Oh dear, I'm not making time to post on my blog again! There are always so many things to get on with aren't there? But I really needed to update a bit since my last post was about Easter eggs!

Over the long May Bank Holiday weekend, I was busy tatting some earrings for my daughter to take with her to a craft fair she will be attending.

She wanted something fairly simple and "leafy" if possible as my daughter's theme is nature so when she saw Lilliantatlace's Verdalet she thought it was just the thing! I like the shape of it and it's pretty quick to make. I tatted a few pairs of those and then some flowers which are my own design as well as the pair of little apples which are also my own. My daughter chose the colours to keep with her nature theme.

I was planning on make some earrings with my little leaf pattern too but I ran out of time. My daughter has another fair coming up in a couple of weeks so I'll be working on some of my own leaves for earrings next time.

It's been so unseasonably hot in the UK these last few days! Like full summer but in May! I hope you're all doing well from wherever you are reading this. It's always great to hear from you!

Best wishes,
Frivole

    1. The flowers proved more popular than the "leaves" in the end but I sold several pairs which is great. :-)

  2. I love these earrings. I must try tatting some jewellery. And I sympathise about keeping up a blog; I've only recently started posting again this year. It gets harder the longer you leave it, doesn't it?

    1. Hi Frankie, thank you for your comment, yes sometimes the gap gets too big and you wonder what's interesting enough to talk about next!

  3. Lovely earrings! I've made a few pair in the past, but I don't feel inspired to tat them. There are so few friends and family who would wear them, and I've given up selling at craft fairs. I wish your daughter great success!

    1. Thank you Diane, my daughter did really well in the end, it was a good weekend for her. I now need to make more earrings for her next fair. I have a couple of friends who really like my earrings (and daughters too) and I wear them often myself so I've always enjoyed making earrings. :-)

  5. Aww, those are lovely! Hope they do well at her fair. I'm in central US and summer seemed in full swing here, too. I hope that's not a foreshadowing..... Well, I'll "leaf" you to your tatting!

    1. Haha, thank you Angie! As for foreshadowing... they do say there will be more of this unusual too hot (or too cold or too wet!) weather...
