Although when I'm stuck, you can tat with the ball of thread itself: I make a "slidy" knot around the ball so that I can unwind thread but it doesn't unwind by itself and then make the knots with the ball of thread in my hand.Frivolehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10318670621310820581noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6114660986925655424.post-8670115216646480372023-02-11T02:48:25.924+00:002023-02-11T02:48:25.924+00:00Hi there; I've just found your blog via Pinter...Hi there; I've just found your blog via Pinterest, and am intrigued by your "big" tatting." A while back, I found some pictures of crocheted wheel covers, and it was a real "Hold my beer" moment for me. (We have a tire cover that says "Scottsdale, Arizona" on it, and we live most of the way across the country from there. When I saw those crocheted covers that look like big doilies, I knew that's what I wanted. I have the #10 nylon cord, but I can only get enough of it on my biggest shuttle to tat two or three rings and chains at a time. It's going to look much too ragged if I have to stop and start that often. May I ask what kind of shuttle you use for your "big tatting?" I'm really hoping for a tatted wheel cover on the back of my Landy.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01970057467414035788noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6114660986925655424.post-16082451660180660352022-12-26T21:03:31.677+00:002022-12-26T21:03:31.677+00:00I love your oversized tatting. It has all the elegance of your smaller pieces too.
