Still Working Large Scale

Yes, at the moment, my projects continue to involve working with large-scale tatting.  I have now 3D-printed myself a modified shuttle that has a bobbin!  I'm very happy with it and it has improved the speed at which I can work the large lace.

I've also continued working on lace tiles.  Here is a second hexagon set.

I'm also testing squares.
These tiles are too thin and have warped but I like
how the lace design shows on them.

I'm going to test again with that particular glaze.

And finally, a couple of mugs.
I'm still enjoying learning to throw on the pottery wheel
and have a go whenever I have a bit of spare time.

I hope you are all keeping well and that you and yours are not affected by the current corona virus crisis.  Stay safe!

Best wishes,
Frivole

  4. That's strange about the photos! First time this has ever happened. I'll try to re-load them and see if it solves the problem!

  5. Everything you do looks perfect to me! I love the shuttle! Is that the size you were looking for a couple of years ago? I have a few 3D printed shuttles. I'm fascinated by the whole process. How do people think these things up?

    1. Hi Diane, it's much MUCH bigger than the size I was looking for a few years ago (and with which you were so kind in helping me acquiring!). These shuttles are for working with rope, rather than thread. Yes, the whole process of 3D-printing is amazing. I'm so glad to have had the chance to 3D-print my own things. I'd love to see your own printed shuttles!

    1. Hello Cecilia, you need a digital file and a 3D-printer. I am lucky enough to be able to get items 3D-printed at the university where I am currently studying.
