Square or Rectangle?

I picked up my Jan Stawasz piece again.  I added a few more motifs to it.  It is now square.  And I'm wondering what to do.  Shall I stop at a square and start making the border?  Or shall I make it into a rectangle?  I can't make up my mind at the moment.

It currently measures 33cm across.  So shall this remain a WIP for a while longer and I should continue to make it bigger or shall I finish it?    What would you do?

Best wishes,
Frivole

  1. Knowing your love of squares, I vote for finishing it as a square. However, I'm sure it will be beautiful no matter what you decide. Your photos are wonderful... if only I had the patience to try and take a good photo!

  2. Carollyn (madtatter) introduced a lovely & practical term wrt my Wiosna - "tablescape" . The proposed future use & surrounding context, can help one decide many aspects of the doily - colours, shape, etc.
Would you like to do some tablescaping to decide, too ? :-)
    It is looking really good

  3. I thinks it's beautiful and unique in the shape it's in right now! Where will you use it? I tend to make things in shapes that don't necessarily fit my needs just because of how I perceive the finish rather than how it will best work for me.

  4. I think it' stunning now! It will look beautiful in a rectangle too but I find it particularly pleasing as a square.

  11. Well, that's wonderful! Thank you for your comments - yes, as you know, I've always liked squares and it seems just about everyone is in agreement! Square it is then. How exciting, I can start working on the border!

    1. Thank you. I'm not sure where I'm going to put it yet. But hopefully I'll find it a good spot when it's finished. :-)
