Edging No. 11

Still exploring the same book (DMC Tatting, Th. de Dillmont),
here is edging no. 11:

Motif No. 4

I have made most of the one pass edgings from that book in the past
but had not tackled those, like this one, which are made in multiple passes
(two in this case).

Simple, but very pretty I think.

Best wishes,

  3. Very pretty edging.

I am also attracted to old designs and are tatting some of them too. Thanks to the internet, there are so many to choose from. I am looking through the Trove site, tatting some of the patterns by Norma Benporath.

    1. Hi Jon,

Yes, I love old designs but some of the patterns are not the easiest to read, are they. I saw you were working on the Norma Benporath patterns - I take my hat off to you! I had a look at those but they are very hard to decipher.

  4. I've always admired the skills of the tatters who did the examples shown in those vintage publications. It's too bad the designers are lost to us, as publishers back then did not indicate the names of the designers or the tatters. But at least the patterns were recorded, and the books have been saved and now are available to us electronically, thanks to the hard work of those dedicated to this task!

All of your samples are beautifully tatted!
